Helpful Guides for Character Creation:
Before you register a character at Mugen Kuppuku, please read the Mugen Kuppuku Island Storyline and the Mugen Kuppuku Island Out of Character Rules. Once you have done that, you are ready for the next step.
Our roleplay offers many opportunities and roles for your character to be a part of. Some roles are acquired through skilled roleplay, and others you can request in your application. For the purposes of this page, we’re focusing on student, faculty and characters from affiliated sims. Roles for villagers and visitors are on the “Join the Village” page.
For those registering as a student or a faculty / support staff member: Remember that these are not static roles. Your character can change or hold multiple roles depending on how their story unfolds in roleplay.

Special Note: All non-human characters go through a more stringent application review. We reserve the right to turn down any non-human character if the roleplay is being saturated with them, if too many people have abused their powers recently, or if they have a history of being roleplayed badly. Please do not take it personally if your non-human character is not accepted. Our roleplay emphasizes relationships and drama, not supernatural powers.
Also, beware the use of named figures and characters in your background. For example, claiming that you are the son of Peter Pan, or the cousin of Arnold Schwarzenegger, or the half-son of Zeus. Using a named figure in your background opens that figure up to others, which can result in storyline clashes or unwanted relatives. Generally, we discourage named figures in backstories for this reason. If you wish to do so anyway, it’s at your own risk.
🪶 I. Registering a Mugen Kuppuku Academy Student
The steps below will guide you through registering as a student at Mugen Kuppuku Academy.

Read the Mugen Kuppuku Academy Guidebook.

Fill out the Mugen Kuppuku Academy Student Application.

Drop your completed application into the application box located in the Mugen Kuppuku Island – Information & OOC Spot.

Wait for the Applications Manager to review and approve your application. You may roleplay under visitor rules until this step is done.

You may be asked to perform a height check to confirm that your avatar is over 5'8" as measured by the ruler in the Information & OOC Spot. The sim is built to scale for this height, so don’t worry about being a bit taller—you’ll still blend in.

Add your character’s abilities or powers to the Picks section of your profile. Label the tab clearly so others know it’s a Mugen Kuppuku profile.

Once accepted, you will receive an invite to the Mugen Kuppuku Academy group.

Make sure your group tag displays your dorm correctly. You may need to switch the title under your Groups options.

If you don’t receive a group invite within 24 hours of acceptance, contact one of our Administrators.

Register on the Mugen Kuppuku Forums and post your approved application in the Mugen Kuppuku Academy Students section of the Character Profiles forum.

✒️ II. Registering a Mugen Kuppuku Academy Faculty Member
The steps below will guide you through registering as a faculty or support staff member at Mugen Kuppuku Academy.

Read both the Mugen Kuppuku Academy Guidebook and the Mugen Kuppuku Academy Faculty Guidebook.

Fill out the Mugen Kuppuku Academy Faculty Application.

Drop your completed application into the application box located in the Mugen Kuppuku Island – Information & OOC Spot.

Wait for the Applications Manager to review and approve your application. You may roleplay under visitor rules until this step is done.

Faculty members are considered game masters, allowing you to send announcements and assist with storytelling.

Activate your Mugen Kuppuku Faculty group and make sure your tag displays your title correctly.

If you don’t receive your group invites within 24 hours of acceptance, contact one of our Administrators.

If you plan to teach a class, it must be scheduled before you begin.

Faculty who intend to hold regular classes must schedule with Sora Rasmussen before roleplaying them.

Register on the Mugen Kuppuku Forums and post your approved profile in the Mugen Kuppuku Academy Faculty and Staff section of the Character Profiles forum.
Once your registration is complete, you may begin roleplaying as a faculty member. If you are game-mastering a class, you may now hold your sessions at the scheduled times.
🌸 III. Registering a Character from an Affiliated Sim
Affiliated characters are always welcome to explore Mugen Kuppuku Island and participate in cross-sim storylines.
Registration requirements depend on whether your character will use powers, abilities, or influence tied to their home sim.
If you are a visitor from an affiliated sim, we highly recommend reading the Mugen Kuppuku Island Storyline to understand our setting.
If you are unsure whether your sim is affiliated, visit the Mugen Kuppuku Island Affiliates Guidebook to confirm.
Characters from affiliated sims do not need to register unless they plan to use any powers, abilities, or influence from their accepted profiles in their home sim.
If you do need to register, fill out the Mugen Kuppuku Island Affiliated Visitor Application and complete the standard approval process.
For roleplay sims that include schools, you may also participate in an Exchange Program, allowing a temporary trade of faculty or students between communities.

Avatar and Roleplay Restrictions

No age play. All playable characters must be 18 or older. Child avatars are not permitted, though you may reference younger characters (siblings, children) in your backstory.

Adult avatars only. Your avatar must appear adult and be at least 5 feet tall as measured by the ruler in the Information & OOC Spot.

Because this can be a subjective call, you may be asked to adjust your avatar if it appears too young.

Micro characters. Avatars that are 1 foot tall or shorter must remain non-sexual characters. Shapeshifters must follow the Shape-Shifter Guidebook.

Supernatural abilities. Vampires, werewolves, ghouls, or other beings capable of curses or spiritual pressure may be temporarily warded while on the sim.

The Applications Manager determines which powers may be sealed or allowed.

Appearance check. If you want to be certain that your avatar meets requirements, you may request a review from the Applications Manager.

As long as you follow the avatar guidelines and refrain from using unapproved powers or enchanted items, you are welcome to walk onto the sim and roleplay anytime.
