Where foxfire, faith, and the forgotten dead watch over the living.

🏮 I. Introduction
The Inari Shrine is a staple of village life. Many islanders visit the shrine to pay respect to the deities in exchange for good fortune, improved agricultural yield, and to settle any problems with their ancestors or spiritual afterlife. It is a highly revered place among the villagers of Mugen Kuppuku Island.
Coupled with the shrine is the graveyard, where prominent members of the community have been buried. Usually the persons taking care of the shrine also take care of these grave markers. Check the Wikipedia page for more information on Inari shrines.

🏮 II. Current Lore
Mugen Kuppuku Island once had an Inari Shrine that was a highly respected and popular place to commune with the gods. However, due to trickery from a nogitsune, the kami that inhabited it was shunned and driven away. The spirits who were angry at the kami completely destroyed the shrine.
This left the villagers to create a smaller, more modest shrine, with a new deity known as Tai. As a messenger of Amaterasu, Tai struggles to build upon the faith of the people within the limits of the small shrine that he has been given.
Due to recent events, Tai has gone missing. A new kami by the name of Akira is now acting as the shrine’s protector until he returns.
For more details on the island’s spiritual activity, see History of Spiritual Events at Mugen Kuppuku Island.
