Mugen Kuppuku Academy was founded by a man named Agony Dreamscape, who envisioned a private university where men could grow both academically and personally—surrounded by opportunity, yet removed from distraction. The isolation of Mugen Kuppuku Island was chosen for this very purpose, offering serenity, prestige, and control.
Since its founding, the Academy has passed through the hands of several headmasters, each imprinting their own interpretation of Dreamscape’s ideals. The current Headmaster, Avery Yotov, is considered kind and forward-thinking by many, though persistent rumors suggest his ambitions stretch far beyond the simple maintenance of a well-run school.
True to Dreamscape’s original charter, only men may attend or teach at Mugen Kuppuku Academy. This exclusivity has long fueled whispers of unconventional relationships between students and faculty—though such rumors are dismissed publicly as idle gossip. Some even speculate that Dreamscape’s own “particular tastes” played a part in the creation of the dorm system, designed to group students of similar temperament and aspiration.
Whatever the truth, Mugen Kuppuku Academy has grown into a world-renowned institution—one that produces not only the brightest minds in Japan, but also some of its most notorious scandals.
✒️ II. Culture & Hierarchy
The cost of attending Mugen Kuppuku Academy is notoriously high. Tuition, fees, and living expenses can easily reach several million yen per year, placing the school firmly among Japan’s most elite institutions. Many students come from powerful families, old money, or have inherited sizeable fortunes. Others secure their place through competitive scholarships, government programs, or private sponsors—and may still need part-time work in the village to stay afloat.
This mix of extreme wealth and hard-earned opportunity creates a constant undercurrent of social pressure. At Mugen Kuppuku, money, family name, talent, and connections all shape how a student is seen. Those at the top of the social ladder may enjoy prestige and favoritism, while those at the bottom risk isolation, bullying, or being treated as disposable entertainment.
Because the Academy is located in Japan, campus life is deeply influenced by Japanese cultural values—especially respect for seniority, status, and public decorum. Titles, honorifics, and reputation matter. A careless insult, a breach of etiquette, or a public scandal can echo far beyond the island, staining not only the student but their entire family.
Within the school, respect and authority are loosely organized along an internal hierarchy. The following outline is meant to help you decide where your character fits socially when you’re roleplaying on campus:
The higher your character sits on this ladder, the more deference they’re likely to receive—from polite distance to outright fear. Those near the bottom may face gossip, pressure, or cruel “pranks,” depending on how others choose to treat them in-character.
Remember, this framework is intentionally loose. It exists to support roleplay, not limit it. Characters can rise or fall socially through their actions, alliances, scandals, and the secrets they keep—or expose.
✒️ III. Academic Structure
Mugen Kuppuku Academy is a private university that offers both undergraduate and graduate programs. Students may pursue degrees in nearly any field—from social sciences and engineering to the arts, education, and allied health professions. The curriculum is intentionally broad, designed to attract brilliant minds and nurture every type of ambition, from scholarly to artistic to political.
The roleplay follows real-time progression, unless otherwise stated by administrators. This means that graduation, promotions, and the passage of years occur naturally over time rather than being fast-tracked. While players are not required to roleplay classroom attendance in detail, it’s assumed that characters are studying and completing coursework during their “off-screen” hours.
Degrees and academic rank influence not only a character’s social standing but also their access to prestige events, faculty attention, and research opportunities. Some students may rush to complete their studies, while others linger at the Academy for personal or political reasons—sometimes well past the point of graduation.
To help players determine their character’s academic level, the following chart offers general guidance based on age and degree type. This is not strict canon but a reference for consistency in roleplay.
The Academy’s faculty prides itself on flexibility: a student’s passion, not their birth year, determines their progress. Some older students may return after careers or scandal; others may be prodigies whose intellect rivals their professors. What matters most is growth, status, and story—the pillars upon which every legend at Mugen Kuppuku is built.
✒️ IV. Calendar Year & Festivals
The Mugen Kuppuku Academy academic year is divided into two major semesters: Summer Semester and Winter Semester. Each one marks not only the rhythm of study and exams, but also the island’s vibrant social life, steeped in tradition and competition.
Classes, festivals, and vacations are all opportunities for roleplay. Characters can take breaks in the village, plan events, or simply let the changing seasons mirror their growth—or their chaos.

🎎 Seasonal Festivals
The Summer and Fall Festivals are two of the most anticipated events of the year. Organized collaboratively by the faculty, Student Council, and dorm representatives, these festivals turn the Academy into a whirlwind of color, music, and rivalry.
Pop-up food stalls, performances, symposiums, and student-run contests fill the courtyards and lecture halls. Each dorm competes to outshine the others through themed exhibits, stage performances, or charity booths—often leading to friendly sabotage and mischievous rumor wars.
For players, these festivals serve as perfect community-wide events to bring characters together across ranks, dorms, and backgrounds. Villagers and guests are always welcome to attend, making them ideal moments to blend the Academy and the outside world.
✒️ V. In-Character Rules
The following are in-character regulations that exist to create realism and structure within the Academy. These are not enforced out of character; breaking them simply invites consequences in-character, such as reprimands, punishments, or black marks. Faculty and Student Council members may reference these guidelines during roleplay to justify their authority or disciplinary actions.
These regulations are intended to preserve the Academy’s integrity and to challenge characters with realistic social boundaries. Rule-breaking, secret affairs, and moral gray areas all make for compelling storylines—so long as they are handled respectfully and remain within in-character context. Faculty and Student Council members are encouraged to use discretion when enforcing the rules, allowing space for creativity and drama.
✒️ VI. Class Attendance
Courses at Mugen Kuppuku Academy exist to enrich character development, spark connections, and offer structured story opportunities—not to burden players with homework. Class sessions are open events that faculty or student assistants may host at any time. Participation is always optional but strongly encouraged, as attending can raise your character’s reputation, grades, or social standing.
Your character’s dedication (or lack thereof) can influence how others perceive them in roleplay. Outstanding attendance might earn praise from professors or offers from prestigious clubs, while frequent absences could lead to warnings, rumors, or even disciplinary action. Players are free to use these consequences as storytelling tools.
Even when you are offline, it’s assumed that your character continues their studies and assignments. This allows flexibility in portraying your student’s academic life without constant roleplay obligations.
Attendance in Mugen’s classes is ultimately about connection. A missed class might mean a lost chance for drama, friendship, or rivalry—while a spontaneous visit to a lecture could change your character’s entire story arc. Whether diligent or delinquent, every student helps shape the pulse of Academy life.
✒️ VII. Dormitories
Dorms are more than just the places of residence for the students of Mugen Kuppuku Academy. They are a part of Agony Dreamscape’s vision of providing diversity within a private university setting. All students must choose a dorm when they apply to the roleplay. In order to qualify for placement in a particular dorm, there are certain talents or characteristics that your character must have.
Once registered as a student, you will need to roleplay acquiring your dorm key. This can be done by contacting a Student Council member, dorm representative, or housemaster in-character. If they’re unavailable due to time zones, you may roleplay leaving them a message by PM, email, or text.
Students are allowed to switch dorms in-character, but this requires discussion with the Student Council. After acceptance into the Mugen Kuppuku roleplay, the fate of your dorm assignment rests entirely in the hands of your roleplay with Council members.
✒️ VIII. Sanctions & Discipline
As in any private Japanese school, misbehavior, rule-breaking and any perceived dishonor that is brought to Mugen Kuppuku Academy can be punished. Most students avoid punishment at all costs because acceptance into a university in Japan is extremely competitive and difficult. It would be a great shame to lose their standing after many years of their lives have been spent studying intensely for the purpose of acceptance into a decent college.
Students who misbehave in the academy are given a “black mark” on their record. These black marks are issued by the Headmaster, Deputy Headmaster, or School Secretary. When a student accumulates five black marks, they are suspended for two weeks. They must leave campus and their items are completely removed from the dorms. Suspension from a private university is a serious issue that blemishes the entire family name of the student involved, according to Japanese custom.
While a student is suspended, they have the choice of residing in the village or they may return to the mainland and beyond. The suspended student may only come to school grounds if they have arranged an appointment to meet with a staff member. Otherwise, any student who is found on campus while in suspension will be arrested by the local police. At that time, the Academy may choose to change their suspension to an expulsion.
Once a suspension is served, the student may return to campus. However, if they continue to acquire black marks, then they can once again be suspended. Students are allowed up to three suspensions before they are completely expelled from the Academy. Once a student is expelled, their belongings are removed from campus and they are no longer allowed to enter campus grounds, except by appointment. Anyone caught entering the Academy after being expelled will be arrested by the local village police.
Black marks are normally accumulated when students do not repay their debts for wrong-doing. For example, when skipping detention issued by a teacher, or not performing a punishment with the proper decorum and shame. However, once a punishment is served, further consequences can not be sought. For example, a teacher can not make a student serve detention and request that they receive a black mark.
⚖️ Punishment Hierarchy
There is a distinct hierarchy on who can provide punishment. In Mugen Kuppuku Academy, the hierarchy is as follows with the most powerful listed at the top: Headmaster, School Secretary, Faculty Members, Student Council, Student Representatives, Team or Club Leaders.If punishment is refused at one tier of the hierarchy, then the case is typically pushed upwards in the ladder. For example, if the student refuses to be punished by a Student Council member, then the Student Council member may report the student to a faculty member, or any of the others who are above them. Once a student's wrong-doing reaches the School Secretary and above, they are in danger of receiving a black mark.
Punishments are decided by the person giving them. These punishments can be as tame as cleaning the classroom to as severe as community service. Typically Student Council and faculty members will choose these types of punishment. Corporal punishment is a gray area. Although it has been outlawed in secondary school and below, there are no government laws that strictly outlaw physical punishment in universities. Even among the laws for protection of minors, there is social acceptance of students being punished physically by their teachers. Therefore, on a traditional island in a university of adults, corporal punishment can and will sometimes happen. In Mugen Kuppuku Academy, these types of punishments are administered only by the School Secretary or Headmaster. It is expected that these punishments are delivered responsibly.
This opens the door to several situations in roleplay. Students have the option to skillfully manipulate the system so that their punishments are less severe, such as through the use of bribery, seduction or extortion. Others may choose for their character to accept punishment for the sake of the storyline. Still others may choose to have the black mark, depending on what their ultimate intentions are for their character.
